Indonesian

Students from Reception to Year 7 participate in Indonesian language and culture lessons with a specialist Indonesian language teacher once a week. Lessons focus on both the language and cultural aspects of Indonesia and include many hands on learning experiences. These positive learning experiences aim to instill an interest and receptiveness to other people, languages and cultures throughout their lives.

Research shows that learning a foreign language allows the brain to develop pathways that also impact positively on other learning areas. Learning Indonesian also has many other obvious benefits (e.g. communicating with locals on your family trip to Bali). Embracing languages and other cultures is becoming increasingly more important in the world today as we move towards becoming a global community.

Selamat belajar! (Happy studying!)
